Eggenberg Hopfenkonig (330ml Bottle)
A delicately herbal pilsner slowly matured and highly fermented. The Hopfenkönig radiates a lightly golden gloss. It is brewed exclusively of natural raw ingredients after the purity requirement of 1516.
Bottle. Super light yellow/straw color, good sized white head, small lacing. Aroma is of grainy, malty effervescence. Sharp lager like smell. Smooth flavor, not as stinging as some pilseners, but adequately crisp and dry. Very drinkable. In the grand scheme, it’s just decent, but for lighter lager types, this was good drinking beer.
While the definition of "pilsner" is open to much debate in the beer community, it generally refers to pale, hoppy lagers, ranging from 28IBUs and up.
