Mac Queen's Nessie (330ml Bottle)
It is brewed from original Scottish Highland whisky malt. This strong beer has a reddish colour and whisky in its blood. It is brewed exclusively of natural raw ingredients after the purity requirement of 1516.
Very sweet malt aroma. Light copper color with no head at all. Medium body with very mild, creamy carbonation. Flavor is lightly bitter, lightly sweet, slightly smoky. Reminiscent of Adelscot, but likely lighter. A little heat is detectable in the finish, which is lightly sweet.
The classic smoked beers hail from Bamberg in Franconia, Germany. These are made using malt that has been smoked over beechwood. The insistent smokiness may be applied to any lager style. In North America, the same technique has been used to make smoked porter. Whiskey malt beers are made using peat-smoked malt.
