Wipers Times 14 (330ml Bottle)
" Wipers Times 14 " is the first beer of new Ypres town brewery "Brouwerij De Casemates " , located in the unique historic casemates " Wooden Horse " at Lille Gate . It is a special blond beer of high fermentation , made of four cereals , hopped exclusively with region- hop and also contains four herbs. The beer owes its name to the " Tranche gazette " which was printed by British soldiers during the First World War in the underground bunkers for their comrades at the front. Because the English name Ypres difficult could speak they translated this into Wipers and as the newspaper's name originated and has the beer obtained his name! The logo of the newspaper is a thistle leaf reflected from the milk thistle (Blessed Thistle ) and this is also one of the immediately di herbs is used in the beer.
Belgian-style ales seldom fit neatly into classic beer styles, but this category represents those "session" ales (in Belgium this means under 7% abv!) that do not fit other categories. Colour ranges from golden to deep amber, with the occasional example coming in darker. Body tends to be light to medium, with a wide range of hop and malt levels. Yeastiness and acidity may also be present.
