Guinness Foreign Extra Stout (325ml Bottle)
Pitch black body with a low head. Brilliant molasses and coffee aroma jumping out of the glass. Intense flavours with massive, not too smooth bitterness following. Has a roasted taste nicely rounded by a slight sweetness.
Many stouts do not fit the classic "Irish" definition as exemplified by Guinness, either due to their hop or roast rates, or higher gravity (in the case of many American stouts). They are still basic stouts, however, not falling into any of the subclasses.
