Ben Middlemiss Hodgson IPA (330ml Bottle)

Description
Hodgson is another great ale from NZ veteran brewer Ben Middlemiss. Christened after the London brewer George Hodgson, this hearty "India Pale Ale" hearkens back to the 1700s when ales were highly hopped to be shipped, unrefrigerated to the colonies. NB: hearken means to "pay heed" and indeed you should, as the uplifting NZ Motueka and Kohatu hops in this modern iteration of a classic style will fill your sails and transport you too. This classic ale will develop for 4-5 years if kept under ideal cellar conditions.
Imperial/Double IPA
Imperial IPA, Double IPA or DIPA is a strong, often sweet, intensely hoppy version of the traditional India Pale Ale. Bitterness units range upward of 100 IBUs and alcohol begins at 7.5% but is more commonly in the 8.5-10% range. The flavour profile is intense all-round. Unlike barley wines, the balance is heavily towards the hops, with crystal and other malts providing support.
