Dale's Extra Special Bitter (500ml Bottle)
British Maris Otter, amber and cystal malts provide a luscious toffeeish base, while a warm-fermenting London ale yeast rewards my ESB with orange marmalade-like esters. All very English so far then, but a trio of Nelson-grown hops with their zingy tropical fruit and citrus top notes give the beer an unmistakeable Kiwi accent.
A gold to copper color, low carbonation and medium to high bitterness. Hop flavor and aroma may be non-existent to mild. Great to drink with steak and lobster.
