Green Man Celt (500ml Bottle)
Pronounced ?Kelt?, this is also a blend, with the same Doppelbock and blended with Dark Mild. The Dark Mild, having less hops and bitterness, brings out the voluptuous whisky flavours, and the beer is maltier and darker than the Strong. The inaugural release was brewed for the Dunedin Celtic Arts Festival in October 2007, which sold out in a few short days.
This beer is a blend of the whisky matured Green Man Strong Ale and their Dark Mild. It is maltler and less hoppy than the Strong Ale, giving more prominance to the whisky.
The red ales of Ireland have a gentle maltiness, caramelly, earthy notes, and a generally restrained hop character. They are session ales, so alcohol is generally at 5% abv or less, though you will find the occasion stronger example.
