Hallertau The Dogs Golics (500ml Bottle)

Description
John Golics has been crafting speciality beers in Onehunga for 20 years. His Rauchbock won Champion Beer at the SOBA 2014 home brewing awards. “The Dog’s Golics” is an 8% smoked black lager made with speciality German malt. It has savoury notes reminiscent of crispy bacon and will be a great compliment to barbequed food.
John's prize was to have a batch of his beer commercially produced by Hallertau.
Smoked
The classic smoked beers hail from Bamberg in Franconia, Germany. These are made using malt that has been smoked over beechwood. The insistent smokiness may be applied to any lager style. In North America, the same technique has been used to make smoked porter. Whiskey malt beers are made using peat-smoked malt.
