The Sawmill Double India Pale Ale (500ml Bottle)
The Hero has returned from his summer hiatus just in time for the winter months. Welcome back the Sawmill Double IPA. 8.5%, lashings of biscuity American ale malt and brimming with a meticulously thought-out blend of US and NZ hops, double dry hopped and ready to be enjoyed. Orange zest, mandarin, caramel-apple and dried apricots spring to mind when taking this beer in, in all its glory. An incredibly balanced and well-crafted beer for those that like to take it up a notch.
Imperial IPA, Double IPA or DIPA is a strong, often sweet, intensely hoppy version of the traditional India Pale Ale. Bitterness units range upward of 100 IBUs and alcohol begins at 7.5% but is more commonly in the 8.5-10% range. The flavour profile is intense all-round. Unlike barley wines, the balance is heavily towards the hops, with crystal and other malts providing support.
