Lighthouse Brewery Classic Stout (500ml Bottle)

Description
Deep, dark black with a fine coffee crema head and a ripe bouquet laced with coffee and chocolate and burned Vogel's toast aromas, a dash of fruit and a tang of green hops in the background. Toasty, ripe palate is also touched with a dash of hop herbals that give it a dry character, gently rich and very long. Has full, well-shaped flavours with hints of chocolate and toast to the very end. Classy stuff.
Tasting Notes
dark chestnut brown pour with a light brown bubbly head that collapses into a rim-hugging halo. Nice aromas of coffee and chocolate, slightly sweet with hints of molasses. No ash or vegetation. Semi-sweet palate, medium bodied leaning toward heavy. Classic stout flavours of burnt roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate with a solid bitter finish. Truly classic in profile, with good balance and generous flavour. Very nice.
Stout
Many stouts do not fit the classic "Irish" definition as exemplified by Guinness, either due to their hop or roast rates, or higher gravity (in the case of many American stouts). They are still basic stouts, however, not falling into any of the subclasses.
