Thomas Hardy Ale 2006 (242ml Bottle)
Scarce, subtle and complex, Thomas Hardys Ale is the beer enthusiasts equivalent of rare cognac. Bottle-conditioned to mature in the bottle like fine wine, this old ale/barley wine will improve with age for at least 26 years (and were still counting!). Not for the faint of palate, especially when young and brash, maturity brings an elegance of flavours unmatched by any other beerif you have the patience to cellar it for at least a decade.
Strong in alcohol and powerfully hopped, it doesn't spoil with time and careful storage, but can be kept for at least 25 years, growing in character as the flavours blend and develop into mature masterpieces in miniature.
A Barley Wine is a strong, top-fermenting ale, with an alcohol contents of at least 9% and up to 13% (or more) by volume. Hops may be hardly noticeable at all or very noticeable. Sip them out of the special glass, that will concentrate the aroma. They are excellent with cigars or with dessert.
