Anderson Valley Deep Enders Dark Porter (650ml Bottle)
A dark brown, medium-bodied porter is endowed with a rich, creamy head and a delicious dark chocolatey aftertaste.
Thick cardboard brown head, a web of lace. Very appealing nutty cocoa and dry mocha aroma; hazelnut and sweet chocolate. Nutty brown-ale taste, moreso than any porter. Roasted mocha malts as it warms up; more hazelnut, brown sugar, dark raisins. Dry and sandpapery feel, smooth on the back end with a bite at the swallow. A good porter, more like a brown, but it evolves.
Black or chocolate malt gives the porter its dark brown color. Porters are well hopped and heavily malted. This is a medium-bodied beer. Porters can be sweet. Hoppiness can range from bitter to mild. Porters are often confused with stouts.
