Green Flash Hop Head Red (355ml Bottle)
Resinous hop character and bitterness balance the rich caramel malt base. We took it a step further and Amarillo dry hopped the brew to 45 IBUs, creating refreshing and savory hop flavours and aromas. Is it Red IPA? That's your call.
Amber-brown with a small head and lots of sediment. Resiny/citrus aroma - nothing but hops. Caramel malts make their presence felt without being too sweet. Not that anything is getting in the way of the American hops. Seems like more than 45 IBUs. Quite full. Very pleasant.
A style without definition, amber ales range from bland, vaguelly caramelly beers to products with a fairly healthy malt and hop balance. Often the differentiation between a quality amber and an American Pale is that the amber might have more dark malt character, or a less assertive hop rate.
